FACES is located in Farmville, Virginia and has been in operation since 1981. FACES is currently ranked third in central Virginia (behind Richmond and Henrico Co.) in the amount of food distributed. We need both donations and volunteers to continue our wonderful progress in fulfilling our mission.

Our Mission

The mission of Farmville Area Community Emergency Services is to gather and distribute food to neighbors in need in hopes of creating a hunger-free community.

FACES NEWS!!

On August 9, 2008, the Glory Bluegrass Band held a free concert at Holliday Lake State Park. Donations of canned goods collected during the concert were given to FACES for distribution to needy families in the community.

Mr. Ellery Sedgwick, FACES treasurer, is providing FREE tax services on several Saturdays from Feb 1 - April 15 for FACES clients!! If you are not currently receiving food and are interested in becoming a client, please visit our Receive Food page.

We also assist clients in applying for Food Stamps at the FACES Help Desk and research and advise clients on their eligibility for other social services.
